2003 is off to a great start with the delivery of much anticipated drafting improvements and visualization features. Look for our ad in upcoming issues of T&D World (April 2003 and after) for an example that demonstrates how photo-realistic your PLS-CADD models can be with our new vanishing point rendering mode.
As mentioned earlier, we are now shipping a version of PLS-CADD with improved drafting including:
By popular request PLS-CADD's offset clipping routine now allows you to specify a structure range rather than having the program generate a report for the entire line. This makes it easy to establish snub locations and also allows stringing through dead ends.
PLS-POLE and TOWER now have Geometry/Insulators/Calculate Allowable 2-Part Load Angles that complements the Geometry/Insulators/Find Allowable Swing Angles command we introduced last year. TOWER has gained a color by group type option that makes it easy to verify that you have correctly modeled your legs with beam elements.
XML, ODBC and table export as well as heading customization and column formatting is available for all PLS-POLE and TOWER reports and many of the reports in PLS-CADD (sag-tension, summary, criteria, PI, offset clipping, structure loads, section usage and structure usage). The XML, ODBC and table export options are accessed by right clicking in the report windows.
The current shipping versions of our software are listed below.
We strongly encourage you to upgrade to the current shipping release of all the applications you own. To do so please send us email at info@powline.com or use the Help/Download Upgrade command. This would also be a good time to use the Help/Check for Updated Manual command to make sure you have the latest edition of the manuals.
As always, we welcome your suggestions and comments on our software.
