Version 14.40 Released!

Version 14.40 is now shipping. Some significant changes are highlighted below.

Top PLS-CADD v14.40 Improvements

• Line Constants calculations including: resistance, positive sequence inductive reactance, capacitive reactance, impedance magnitude, and phase angle.
• General Cable has contributed more than 4300 PLS-CADD cable models (".wir" files) to the Online Library. These may be accessed directly from within PLS-CADD with Online Library Integration.
• Added "NESC 2017" wind loading option.
• Many more improvements described in the detailed change list accompanying upgrades.

Classes and Events

• Registration for the 2017 PLS-CADD Advanced Training and User Group meeting is now open. We are developing the preliminary agenda at this time and are seeking users to lead presentations on any facet of PLS software. If you are interested in leading a presentation or have a suggestion for a topic to be addressed then please email Otto Lynch.

We have scheduled the following classes:

• Design of Overhead Transmission and Distribution Lines using PLS-CADD (includes 32 PDHs), January 16-20, 2017 in Madison, Wisconsin (Space still available)
• Analysis and Design of Transmission Towers Using TOWER (includes 28 PDHs), April 18 - 21, 2017 in Madison, WI (Space still available)

Other authorized classes organized by PLS agents and consultants:

• Design and Optimization of Overhead Transmission Lines using PLS-CADD and TOWER, March 2017 in Sharjah, UAE by Elias Ghannoum

New classes are added throughout the year based on demand. You may subscribe to a mailing list to be notified whenever a new class is scheduled.

Current Versions

The current shipping versions of our software are listed below. These versions support Windows Vista, 7, 8 and 10 (both 32 and 64 bit). We recommend you run a 64 bit edition of Windows so that you may take advantage of the enormous investment we have made in the x64 Edition.

We strongly encourage you to upgrade to the current release of all the applications you own. To do so please use the Help/Download Upgrade command built into your PLS software and select the option "I need to request an upgrade code". This would also be a good time to use the Help/Check for Updated Manual command to obtain the version 14.40 edition of the manuals.
