We have two major announcements in this newsletter. First, registration and the hotel reservations block for the 2019 Advanced Training and User Group Meeting have opened. Second, version 15.50 is now shipping!
Version 15.50 builds on the massive improvements delivered in previous versions by focusing on improving performance and usability. For example, the introduction of Jumpers in version 15 resulted in larger FE models that took more time to analyze so we have improved FE performance by 5-35% and also added graphical commands for jumpers. The positive sequence line constants calculator was a popular addition to the last version of PLS-CADD and many users asked for full line constants. We dusted off our complex number matrix math and now version 15.50 performs full line constant calculations including zero sequence impedance and susceptance for each span taking into account the geometry of the line. Plan on attending our biannual Advanced Training and User Group Meeting this summer in beautiful Madison, Wisconsin. This three day event draws hundreds of overhead line engineers from around the world to exchange line design and PLS-CADD best practices. We provide extensive opportunities for networking and learning from your peers. The ATUG is our gift back to the line design community. Please attend so you may accept it! Note that preregistration is required and the hotel room block has been released, so visit Advanced Training and User Group Meeting to register and see the various hotel blocks we have reserved for you.
The current shipping versions of our software are listed below. These versions support Windows Vista, 7, 8 and 10 (both 32 and 64 bit). We recommend you run a 64 bit edition of Windows so that you may take advantage of the enormous investment we have made in the x64 Edition. Both Windows Vista and all 32 bit editions will cease being supported later this year.

We strongly encourage you to upgrade to the current release of all the applications you own. To do so please use the Help/Download Upgrade command built into your PLS software and select the option "I need to request an upgrade code". This would also be a good time to use the Help/Check for Updated Manual command to obtain the version 15.50 edition of the manuals. If your licenses have expired then please email sales@powline.com for a renewal quotation.
