2013 Advanced Training and User Group Meeting (ATUG)

The 2013 ATUG is July 16-18, 2013 in beautiful downtown Madison, Wisconsin! There is NO CHARGE for attendance, but preregistration is required to attend. A preliminary agenda has been prepared, but there is still time to incorporate a few more topics if you have an interesting PLS experience or a unique way to use PLS software to share. Please email Otto Lynch directly if you wish to make a presentation or have an additional topic not on the preliminary agenda that you would like to see addressed. In addition to the technical program, there will be opportunities to network with many other users from around the world during the day and evening social events. We have a block of discounted rooms reserved as detailed on the ATUG webpage, but they are limited and are going fast. As we are already expecting record attendance, please make your travel and lodging reservations soon, particularly if you are flying directly into Madison. We look forward to seeing you in July!

• Design of Overhead Transmission Lines using PLS-CADD (includes 32 PDHs), June 10-14, 2013 in Madison, WI (Space still available)
• Advanced Training and User Group Meeting, July 16-18, 2013 in Madison, WI (Space still available)
• Design of Transmission Lines, Structures and Foundations (Organized by the University of Wisconsin) November 11-15, 2013 in Madison, WI (Check availability)
• Computerized Transmission Line Design: PLS-CADD Hands-On Training (Organized by the University of Wisconsin) December 9-13, 2013 in Orlando, FL (Check availability)
• Additional classes are scheduled frequently throughout the year so check the Training Classes web page frequently.

Other authorized classes organized by PLS agents and consultants:

• Increasing utilisation and improved reliability, through LiDAR and PLS-CADD, June 17-20, 2013 in Knaresborough, UK by Network Mapping
  Note that this is the only class scheduled to be held in Europe in 2013.
• PLS-CADD & PLS-POLE Training Course, July 16-18, 2013 in Cape Town, South Africa by Trans-Africa Projects
• PLS-CADD & PLS-POLE Training Course, Nov. 5-7, 2013 in Johannesburg, South Africa by Trans-Africa Projects

Current Versions

Microsoft will terminate support for Windows XP on April 8, 2014. Since we rely on Microsoft support, we do not anticipate continuing to support Windows XP beyond June 1, 2014. The current shipping versions of our software are listed below. These versions support Windows XP, Vista, 7 and 8 (both 32 and 64 bit). Note that we no longer support operating systems prior to Windows XP SP2. We recommend you run a 64 bit edition of Windows so that you may take advantage of the enormous investment we have made in the x64 Edition.

We strongly encourage you to upgrade to the current release of all the applications you own. To do so please use the Help/Download Upgrade command built into your PLS software. This would also be a good time to use the Help/Check for Updated Manual command to obtain the version 12.30 edition of the manuals. If you are out of date on your upgrade and technical support period, please contact sales@powline.com.
