At Power Line Systems we continually improve our software. Below we list some of the more significant enhancements made during the year 2006. Click here for improvements made in 2005 or here for the most recent enhancements.

Different insulator types and properties for each phase in a set (for example, IVI in one set)
Minimum vertical load limit or uplift capacity for each phase
4th set of suspension insulator swing and 2-part insulator load angle limits
Graphical indication of attachment positions and allowable swings

Coordinate system and projection documented in project XML file and PI Report
New Structure Longitude and Latitude Report (useful for GPS or government forms like FAA 7460-1)
Improved TerraServer integration (manual coordinate conversion no longer required)

Added LiDAR Color Coding capability to draw much more realistic scenes
Improved drawing performance of 3D view for large LiDAR models
Google Earth integration via the File/Export KMZ command. Structures, wires and even raster imagery can all be faithfully represented in Google Earth

Increased maximum number of structure load cases to 256 from 100.
Lines/Reports/Survey Point Clearances command replaces earlier Lines/Reports/Terrain Clearances/By Survey Point and Lines/Reports/Terrain Clearances/By Span commands and adds the following enhancements:
- "Desired Level of Detail" options for reporting on all points or only the one with the lowest clearance in each span
- Ability to restrict report to selected feature codes
- Option to place 3D and profile view markers to graphically indicate positions of clearance violations
- Report includes survey point feature code, point descriptor, X, Y, Z, station and offset fields (also includes option for display of survey point comments)
- Report is now customizable and supports more options for export
Construction staking table can now include detailed structure information (pole property label, weight, length, embedded depth, pole base diameter) for PLS-POLE version 8 structures.

You can now input multiple strength interaction curves (application charts) for post insulators

Analysis Results report now includes "Loads At Guy Attachments For All Load Cases" for designing guy attachments
Added laminated wood pole element so can analyze and design laminated wood poles as easily as conventional wood poles
File/Batch Modify can now modify many additional items (Foundation Strength, Linear Appurtenances, Analysis Options, etc.)
Reduced clutter in base plate output by removing bend lines that obviously can't control
